#23 Blue Jays Top Shoremen, 9-0

BALTIMORE, Md. — The host Johns Hopkins men's tennis team, ranked 23rd in Division III and sixth in the Atlantic South region, clinched the top seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference Tournament with a 9-0 win over visiting Washington College in a conference match this afternoon in Baltimore.

Doubles
- Eric Burrer and Scott Thygesen beat Jake Sandler and Andrews Smith, 8-3, at No. 1.
- Alex Matisse and Colin Muraika bested Kyle Hickey and Koby Bonta, 8-4, at No. 2.
- Jack Hogan and Brian Wang blanked August Meriot and Mitchell Evans, 8-0, at No. 3.

Singles
- Wang beat Hickey, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 2 and Muraika downed Evans, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 6 in the first two singles matches to finish.
- Hogan then beat Smith, 6-4, 6-4, and Naevin Anukornchaikul topped Sandler, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 1.
- Burrer downed Bonta, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 4 and Matt Lurie got past Meriot, 6-2, 7-6(3), at No. 3 to complete the sweep for the Blue Jays.

Notes
- The Blue Jays improved to 13-3 overall and 8-0 in Centennial Conference matches with the win. The Shoremen fell to 5-7 and 3-4 with the loss.
