Mandrell Improves 1000 Free Time by Nearly Six Seconds
CHESTERTOWN, Md. — The Washington College men's swimming team fell to the York (Pa.) Spartans by a score of 103-80 on Friday afternoon at the Casey Swim Center. The Shoremen took the top-time in six different events.

Shoremen Highlights
- Gage Mandrell became the Shoremen's fourth-fastest swimmer ever in the 1000 freestyle as he captured the event in 10:02.64, bettering his previous top-time of 10:08.05. He outraced the field by fifty seconds in the event. Mandrell also touched the wall first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.90.
- Andrew Feeley captured the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:48.85.
- Jackson Graham (54.40) and Seth Wrigley (55.59) went one-two in the 100 butterfly to grab a combined total of 13 points in the event.
- Nate Braddock took the 500 freestyle by nearly twelve seconds over the second-place finisher with a time of 5:02.40. He also was second in the 200 individual medley in 2:06.25.
- Mike Cebzanov was the runner-up to Mandrell in the 100 breaststroke after hitting the wall in 1:07.
- The Shoremen also captured the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:21.97. Mandrell, Feeley, Wrigley and Graham picked up the victory for the hosts.
Notes
- The Shoremen, who had not competed since late November, fell to 2-6 on the season. York improves to 5-2 on the season.
