Box Score 2 Orlando, Fla. - - -The Washington College men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches on Friday on their spring break trip. The Shoremen, who are now 5-4, were edged by Carthage, 5-4 and Rhodes, 8-1.
Match One, Carthage d. WC, 5-4
Doubles
Carthage won two of the three doubles points to open the match. The Shoremen received a point from Koby Bonta and August Meriot, who defeated Patrick Anderson and John Nykyforuk by a score of 8-7(9-7 tiebreak) at No. 3 doubles. Kyle Hickey and Andrew Smith fell at No. 1 doubles against Daniel Moore and Andre Antreassian by a count of 8-6. Zizi Amadike and Matt Krzewinski edged Paul Eisenmagen and Landon Strober, 8-7 (2-7 tebreak), at No. 2 doubles.
Singles
Bonta remained undefeated in singles play as he bested Krzewinski at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Meriot pulled out a hard-fought victory, 7-5, 6-3, versus Antreassian at No. 4 singles and Smith beat Nykyforuk, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 singles. Eisenmagen (No. 1) and Province (No. 5) lost in straight sets and Strober lost in a tiebreaker, 3-6, 7-5, (5-10).
