Washington College 2 McDaniel 1

How It Happened
- Despite holding an 11-1 advantage in shots in the first half, the Shoremen could not dent the scoreboard as the two teams were tied 0-0 at halftime.  Washington's best chance came in the 30th minute by Joe Mutscheller on a header off of a corner kick, but it went over the goal.
- The Green Terror's lone shot came 7:05 into the first half by Brandon Morse, but it went wide to the right.
- Eric Gwadz would put the Shoremen ahead 1-0 at the 59:24 mark as his shot eluded the grasp of McDaniel goalkeeper Jonathan Mangione and into the goal.  The play started on Del Jenkins throw-in that found Greg Adams and Adams headed it over to Gwadz as both Jenkins and Adams got assists on the score.
- The lead did not last long as at the 64:18 mark, the Green Terror tied it at 1-1 as Allan Rivera-Benitez dribbled down the left side and his cross found Jason Bruder who redirected the feed into to the goal.
- The score remained 1-1 until the 82nd minute when Malone went through McDaniel defense and his shot from the left side went inside the right post to snap the tie.
- Gwadz provided the insurance goal with 1:36 left from Adams.  Adams initial shot was saved by Mangione, but Adams got the rebound and passed it over to Gwadz.

- Gwadz was named the Goose Nation TV Shoreman Player of the Game.  He has scored two goals in each of the last two contests and has five goals over his last four games.
- In 2016, Washington went 5-3-1 in the Centennial on its way to landing one of the five spots in the conference tournament.
- The Shoremen can be anywhere from the two seed to the five in the five-team tournament.  Johns Hopkins clinched the top seed and hosting rights with a 2-0 win over Muhlenberg today.

Quotes
Coach Dunshee on earning a C.C. Tournament berth
"It's so difficult in the Centennial Conference to get to postseason play because every team is so good and are well-coached. It's really gratifying and a testament to the hard work and the ethical leadership of our seniors. They have really done a phenomenal job of guiding this team."

On the recent play of Eric Gwadz
"He's been playing well all season but he's really found his form lately. He's playing with a lot of confidence and has just been on fire"
