Men's Hoops Falls at No. 15 Johns Hopkins, 92-61

Baltimore, MD – The Washington College men's basketball team fell to the No. 15 ranked Johns Hopkins Blue Jays, 92-61, in a Centennial Conference contest on Wednesday evening at Goldfarb Gymnasium. The Shoremen are now 1-5 (0-2 C.C.) while the Blue Jays improve to 6-1 (2-0 C.C.).

How It Happened
- Shoremen sophomore forward Sam Corrao scored the first bucket of the contest but the hosts scored the next 10 points and forced the visitors to take a timeout with 15:32 left in the opening stanza. Senior guard Braeden Johnson hit a trey from the left-corner to cap the run.
- Sophomore guard Kedrick Frink brought the Shoremen within 13-8 after converting a jumper with 14:01 left but the Blue Jays responded with a 12-5 spurt to widen their lead to 25-13 at the 9:53 mark.
- Washington sophomore guard Dillon Smith swished a pull up jumper to bring the Shoremen within 25-15, however, the hosts responded with a 10-4 run to extend their lead to 35-19 with 4:53 on the clock.
- Johns Hopkins took their largest lead of the half at 39-21 after senior forward Chid Nnake converted a pair from the line with 1:47 left before the break. The hosts settled for a 42-25 halftime advantage.
- Corrao opened the second half with a jumper to bring the Shoremen within 15, 42-27, but that was as close as they could get for the remainder of the contest.

For the Shoremen
- Senior forward Ethan Sommer scored a career-best nine points on 4-of-7 shooting to pace the visitors.
- Frink had seven points (3-of-4 fga) and added four boards.
- Freshman guards Zack Skrocki and Zach Genther both contributed a career-high seven points. Skrocki added four caroms to tie Frink for the team-lead.
- Washington went 25-of-55 (45.5) percent from the floor overall, were 3-for-16 (18.8 percent) from behind the arc, and hit 8-for-15 (53.3 percent) from the line.

For the Blue Jays
- Guard Conner Delaney, a graduate student, scored a game-high 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-9 from downtown.
- Nnake (12 points, game-high 9 rebounds) and senior forward Tom Quarry (10 points) were also in double-figures.
- The Blue Jays shot 46.3 percent (31-of-67) from the floor overall, made 11-of-34 treys (32.4 percent) and went 19-of-29 (65.5 percent) from the line.-Johns Hopkins held a 48-30 advantage on the boards and outscored the Shoremen by a 22-2 count in second chance points.
