Sea Gulls Top Shoremen 8-1

Salisbury, Md. - The host Salisbury University men's tennis team downed visiting Washington College 8-1 on Saturday afternoon at the SU Tennis Center. Freshman Ian Hewes (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) picked up the Shoremen's lone win in singles as he downed Russell Willenborg, 1-6, 7-6 (1-0), 16-14.  For Hewes, it was his first collegiate victory in singles.  The Sea Gulls improve to 2-0, while the Shoremen drop to 0-2.  The Shoremen travel to Randolph-Macon tomorrow for a 10:30 a.m. match.
