Box Score Team Wins Three in Singles and Two in Doubles
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The host Washington College men's tennis team registered a 5-4 win over visiting Gettysburg in its home and Centennial Conference opener at the Schottland Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

Doubles
- The No. 2 doubles tandem of Andrew Province and Christian Gruyon came away with an 8-1 victory over Patrick Bodovitz and Matt Rau in the first match to finish. The Bullets netted the win at No. 1 doubles as their duo of Alex Kagan and Michael Zayneh topped the duo of Ian Hewes and Landon Strober, 8-3. Gettysburg got the win at No. 3 doubles as the Shoremen were unable to field a pair with Alec Shalk and Zach LaChance getting credit for the win.
Singles
- Gruyon topped Bodovitz, 6-0, 6-2, in the first singles match to finish at No. 4 and Province downed LaChance by the same exact scores at No. 3.
- Hewes won at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-1, to tie the match at 4-4.
- In No. 1 singles, Strober and Kagan split the first two sets as Strober won the first set, 6-0, before Kagan took the second set, 6-1. In the third and final set, which would determine the winner of the match, Strober came away with a 6-2 win to give WC the win.
- Shalk was awarded the win at No. 5 singles and Max Levy got the victory at No. 6 singles as the Shoremen had nobody to play against them.
Notes
- Washington is 2-2 overall, while Gettysburg drops to 0-1 on the season. The Shoremen are 1-0 in the conference, while the Bullets are 0-1.
