Blue Jays Down Shoremen, 9-0

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting Johns Hopkins topped host Washington College, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference men's tennis action at Schottland Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.

Doubles
- The Blue Jays' No. 2 doubles tandem of Daniel Ardila and Vishnu Joshi came away with an 8-2 win over Andrew Province and Christian Gruyon in the first played match to finish.  Johns Hopkins netted the win at No. 1 doubles as its duo of James Yu and Thomas Yu topped the duo of Ian Hewes and Landron Strober, 8-3.  With this victory at No. 1 doubles, Johns Hopkins won the match due to three wins via forfeit.  Johns Hopkins got the win at No. 3 doubles as the Shoremen were unable to field a pair with Robby Simon and Alexander Kernagis getting credit for the win.

Singles
- Simon topped Gruyon, 6-0, 6-0, in the first competed singles match to conclude at No. 4.
- Wang netted a, 6-0, 6-3, win at No. 3 singles over Province.
- In No. 1 singles, Joshi downed Strober, 6-2, 6-1, in the third singles match that was played to end and the last singles match to finish was No. 2 with Thomas Yu topping Hewes, 6-1, 6-2.
- Jack Hogan was awarded the win at No. 5 singles and Kernagis got the victory at No. 6 singles as the Shoremen had nobody to play against them.

Notes
- Washington is 2-4 overall, while Johns Hopkins improves to 4-0 on the season.  The Shoremen are 1-2 in the conference, while the Blue Jays are 4-0.
