Strober Victorious in No. 1 Singles

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting Franklin & Marshall downed host Washington College, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference men's tennis action at Schottland Tennis Center.

Doubles
- The Diplomats won both doubles matches that were played.  At No. 1 doubles, F&M's Sam Bellersen and Adrian Charchalis won 8-5 over the duo of Ian Hewes and Landron Strober in the first match to complete.  In No. 2 doubles, the Diplomats' duo of Tristan Steffe and Justin Pace came away with an 8-6 win over Andrew Province and Christian Gruyon in the second played match to finish.  Franklin & Marshall got the win at No. 3 doubles as the Shoremen were unable to field a pair with Adith Chandavarkar and Issac Rockower getting credit for the win.

Singles
- Strober got the lone win for the Shoremen at No. 1 singles as he bested Bellersen, 7-5, 6-4, in the third singles match to end.
- Pace won the first singles match to finish at No. 3 over Province, 6-3, 6-0.
- Chandavarkar won the second singles contest to complete as he downed Gruyon at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
- Hewes and Charchalis went to three sets at No. 2 singles with Charchalis of F&M prevailing, 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 1-0 (12-10) in the last match to finish.
- Steffe was awarded the win at No. 5 singles and Anthony Casale got the victory at No. 6 singles as the Shoremen had nobody to play against them.

Notes
- Washington is 2-5 overall, while Franklin & Marshall improves to 4-1 on the season.  The Shoremen are 1-3 in the conference, while the Diplomats are 4-1.
