Gruyon Wins All 20 Games on the Day

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Visiting Washington College swept host McDaniel, 6-0, on Wednesday afternoon in Centennial Conference men's tennis action at Warfield Tennis Courts. Dating back to 1985, the Shoremen, who did not drop a set in the win, have beaten the Green Terror 29 straight times.

Doubles
- The Shoremen won both at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.  In No. 1 doubles, the tandem of Landon Strober and Ian Hewes came away with an 8-5 win over McDaniel's Luke Szukalki and Del Carden.  At No. 2 doubles, WC's Andrew Province and Christian Gruyon, prevailed 8-0 over the Green Terror's tandem of Jimmy Wawrzynski and Josh Friedman
- With each team having just four players, there was no match at No. 3 doubles.

Singles
- Gruyon won, 6-0, 6-0, over Friedman at No. 4 singles to win all 20 sets on the afternoon.
- Province downed Wawrzynski, 6-0, 6-1, as he captured 20 of 21 games he played in the match.
- Strober topped Szukalki, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 1 singles and in No. 2 singles, Hewes got the better of Carden, 6-3, 6-4. 
- With each squad having only four players, No. 5 and No. 6 singles were not played.

Notes
- Washington is 3-5 overall, while McDaniel drops to 0-4 on the season.  The Shoremen are 2-3 in the conference, while the Green Terror are 0-4.
