Box Score Hewes and Strober Win in Singles
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Host Ursinus downed visiting Washington College, 7-2, on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference men's tennis action at Bailey Courts.

Doubles
- Ursinus won all three doubles to lead 3-0. The duo of Mason Groff and Matt Fontanese won at No. 1 doubles over the tandem of Landon Strober and Ian Hewes, 8-2. At No. 2 doubles, Ursinus' Lars Jespersen and Will Oberholtzer topped WC's Andrew Province and Christian Gruyon, 8-5. The Bears' team of Darby Rogers and Simbarashe Kanjanda were awarded victory at No. 3 due to the Shoremen unable to field a team.
Singles
- Strober got the win at No. 1 singles, 6-7 (5-7), 6-1, 1-0 (10-5) over Groff.
- Hewes won at No. 2 singles over Fontanese, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 1-0 (11-9).
- Jespersen topped Province at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-3, and Oberholtzer bested Gruyon, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8).
- Rogers was awarded the win at No. 5 singles and Rob Ritchie got the victory at No. 6 singles as the Shoremen had nobody to play against them.
Notes
- Washington is 2-3 overall, while Ursinus improves to 1-1 on the season. The Shoremen are 1-1 in the conference, while the Bears are also 1-1.
