Box Score Esposito Scores First Two Career Goals for Washington
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Freshman forward Kat Esposito (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) scored her first two career goals as host Washington College downed visiting Hood, 6-0, in a non-conference field hockey game on Thursday afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium. It was the season opener for both squads.

How It Happened
- Kate Gromacki put the Shorewomen ahead for good 4:37 into the game as she scored from the top of the circle off of a penalty corner feed from Zoe Shevitz. Washington led 1-0 after one quarter.
- Esposito scored her first collegiate goal 7:16 into the second quarter as she pounced on a loose ball in the goalmouth and poked it home to give the hosts a 2-0 advantage and that would be the halftime score.
- The Shorewomen took control of the game with a three-goal third quarter. Esposito scored her second goal of the game 4:51 into the third on a shot that went in on the right side to make it 3-0. Maddie Knight got her first goal of the campaign just 3:32 later off of her own rebound to push the lead to four. The scoring was capped by Julianna Sterling who scored with 35 ticks left on a pass from Alexis Tackney in front of the cage.
- Cristen Quillen capped the scoring with her first career goal with 28 seconds left in the fourth quarter after she redirected an Ellie Bossi pass as Bossi got her first career helper on the score.
