Box Score Winchester, Va. – The visiting Washington College field hockey team dropped a 5-2 decision against the Shenandoah Hornets, in a non-conference contest on Saturday afternoon at Sprint Field/Shentel. The Shorewomen fell to 4-3 while the Hornets improved to 7-1.
How It Happened
 - The hosts struck just 2:42 into the contest as freshman forward Mairead McKibbin stuffed in a rebound past Shorewomen starting keeper Ava Rivera.
 - The Hornets made it 2-0 at 10:10 as senior forward Lauren Tyre took a feed from McKibbin and beat Rivera, who had charged out of her position.
 - Shenandoah took a 3-0 just seven seconds into the second quarter. Sophomore midfielder Elizabeth Ramberger smacked a long shot from the top of the circle and snuck one into the lower left corner of the cage.
 - Washington College got one right back just twenty-nine seconds later at 15:36 as freshman forward Kat Esposito beat Katie Garman following a fast-break opportunity. It was Esposito's team-leading sixth marker of the season.
 - The hosts made it 4-1 as they scored with just five ticks left in the third quarter. Kylee Tuebner scored from McKibbin following a penalty corner.
 - McKibbin recorded her second goal of the game at the 50:57 mark after taking a feed from Kelsey Jones.
 - The Shorewomen scored a late goal at 55:22 as senior forward Maddie Knight made a run into the right side of the circle and her shot was tipped in by Esposito on a shot just inside the far post beating Garman. It was Esposito's seventh goal and Knight's first assist of the season.
