Frink and Becker Each Tally 16 Points for Team-High

Highlights

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting Ursinus scored the game's last seven points and withstood a final three-point shot from host Washington College to come away with a 74-71 win on Monday night in Centennial Conference men's basketball action on Finnegan Court at Penny J. Fall Gymnasium.  The Bears are now 9-6 overall and 6-4 in the Centennial, while the Shoremen are 4-12 and 1-8 respectively.

How It Happened
- Ursinus opened the game on an 11-2 run in the first 4:53 of the game with Jaiden Jakubowski capping the run on a free throw.
- Washington would counter with an 11-3 run of its own to cut the lead to 14-13 with 12:02 remaining in the first half on a jumper by Dilyn Becker.
- Trevor Wall would give the Bears a nine-point advantage of a transition jumper, 39-30, with 2:51 to go in the stanza before the Shoremen scored the final 10 points to take a 40-39 lead into halftime.  Precieux Tshibangu converted a fast-break lay-in with 35 seconds left to give WC the one-point lead, its first of the game.
- In the second half, Ursinus would score the opening six points to take a 45-40 lead with 17:13 left in the game on a Ryan Hughes three-pointer.
- Down 65-61 with 7:55 remaining following a Hughes triple, the Shoremen went on a 10-2 run to take a 71-67 lead with 3:14 left on a Tray Wright layup.  Becker put WC ahead 39 seconds prior on a lay-in of his own.
- Trailing 71-70, Wall would put the guests ahead to stay with 1:40 left on a layup, 72-71.
- The score remained 72-71 until 10 seconds left when Peyton Vostenak canned two free throws to provide the final points.
- On the ensuing possession, Becker was fouled and missed the front end of a one-and-one with Kyle Maurer getting the board.  Maurer would miss the front end of his one-and-one giving the Shoremen one final chance. 
- Kedrick Frink would grab the rebound and would dribble to the top of the three-point arc and his shot to try to force overtime was off the mark and Ursinus came away with the win.

For The Shoremen (4-12, 1-8 CC)
- Frink (16 points to tie for team-high, squad-best nine rebounds and game-high four steals), Becker (16 points on 7-for-10 shooting), Wright (13 points, eight boards and four assists), Tshibangu (10 points)
- The Shoremen shot 44% (30-for-68) from the floor, 36% (5-for-14) from three-point range and 55% (6-for-11) from the foul line. 
- WC outscored the guests in points in the paint (44-28), points off turnovers (13-7) and bench points (25-15).
- Washington had seven turnovers in the game, tying for the fewest in a game this season.

For Ursinus (9-6, 6-4 CC)
- Hughes (game-best 18 points), Cole Grubbs (contest-highs of 10 rebounds and three blocks; team-best two steals), Maurer (16 points), Wall (14 points and five assists), Sean Neylon (five assists)   
- The Bears shot 44% (27-for-61) from the floor, 41% (11-for-27) from three-point range and 69% (9-for-13) from the free throw stripe.    
- Ursinus outscored WC in second chance points (8-6) and transition points (7-6).
- The Bears had 11 turnovers in the contest, while holding a 42-35 edge in rebounds.

Notes
- Frink was named Goose Nation TV Shoreman Player of the Game.
- Washington also had a season-low seven turnovers at Stevenson on November 20.
