Mandrell Sets Pool Record and Affeldt Wins Event

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Host Swarthmore topped visiting Washington College, 193-67, at Ware Pool in Centennial Conference men's swimming action on Saturday.

Shoremen Highlights
- Gage Mandrell won the 200 backstroke (1:52.53) and set the Ware Pool record in the process. He also took second in the 50 freestyle (21.44).
- Zach Affeldt won the 200 breaststroke (2:13.79) as he edged the reigning Centennial Conference Champion Andrew Karpenko of Swarthmore, who finished with a time of 2:14.02.
- Bianti Danaj was second in the 200 freestyle (1:48.55).
- Mandrell, Chase Hensen, Justin Fitzpatrick and William Schmidt were second in the 400 medley relay (3:34.52) and in the 200 freestyle relay the quartet of Hensen, Mandrell, Schmidt and Danaj were second (1:27.34).

Notes
- The Garnet is 4-0 overall and in the Centennial, while the Shoremen are now 1-2 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
