LANCASTER, Pa. – Junior
Anthony Pinto (Matawan, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) has been named the 2022 Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's soccer, becoming the first men's soccer player from Washington College to be named scholar-athlete.
Anthony Pinto is also one of five Washington College men's soccer players that have been named Academic All-Centennial and one of 12 student-athletes from the Shoremen to have qualified for the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for fall sports. In addition to

Alex Coster (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery),
Harrison Malone (Media, Pa./Episcopal Academy) and
Ben Strine (Hockessin, Del./Salesianum School) and junior
Chris Comber (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) were named Academic All-Centennial.

In order to qualify for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average.
Academic All-Centennial honors are bestowed upon student-athletes who are named All-Centennial Conference and earn a spot on the Academic Honor Roll in the same season. Earlier this month, Comber was named All-Centennial first team, Malone,
Anthony Pinto and Strine garnered All-CC second team, while Coster was tabbed all-conference honorable mention. Coster and Malone earned Academic All-Centennial for the second straight year, while Comber,
Anthony Pinto and Strine garnered Academic All-Centennial honors for the first time.
The scholar-athlete of the year goes to the student-athlete who had the high grade-point average who earned All-Centennial Conference recognition.

Jackson Sopa (Rising Sun, Md./Rising Sun) qualified for the third straight year. Qualifying for the Academic Honor Roll for the second time are Comber,

Zak Burgess (Media, Pa./Westtown School),
Max Greenfeld (Gaithersburg, Md./Wootton) and
Christopher Pinto (Matawan, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy). Sophomores
Sebastien Linares (Reisterstown, Md./Loyola Blakefield) and
Dominic Miller (Brentwood, Tenn./Ravenwood) are first time qualifiers.
Burgess, Comber and Miller are majoring in Liberal Arts, Coster is a history major, Greenfeld is an Economics major, Horgan is a Business and Economics major, Linares is a Physics major, Malone and
Anthony Pinto are Business majors,
Christopher Pinto is a Psychology major, Sopa is a Molecular Biology and Biochemistry major and Strine is a Political Science major.
