Box Score Shoremen Win Two of Three in Doubles and Four of Six in Singles
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Washington College men's tennis team knocked off Franklin & Marshall on Saturday afternoon at Schottland Tennis Center. The Shoremen moved to 6-4 and nabbed their first Centennial Conference victory of the season, while the visitors fell to 4-3 on the campaign and 1-1 in the conference.
The hosts claimed four of six singles matches and took two out of three in doubles.
The combo of junior Karl Hoegstedt and senior Andrew Smith secured the No. 1 doubles point, while senior Koby Bonta and junior Landon Strober locked up the No. 2 doubles point.
Hoegstedt turned in another strong performance in his solo appearance, taking the top singles point in the match. Sophomore Ryohei Kawai took the No. 3 singles point, while freshman Brady Burns and junior Andrew Province locked up No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. All four Shoremen singles winners won in two sets.
