Box Score Hoegstedt Wins in Singles and Doubles for WC
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting Stevens won the final two singles matches and No. 5 and No. 6 to come away with a 5-4 win over host Washington College in non-conference men's tennis action at Schottland Tennis Center and inside the Johnson Fitness Center on Sunday.

Doubles
- The No. 1 doubles tandem of Karl Hoegstedt and Andrew Smith rolled up an 8-2 win over Stevens' Keegan Morris and Olof Persson. The Ducks tied the match at No. 3 doubles as the team of Sebastian Wroe and Aashi Kulakami won 8-4 over Ryohei Kawai and Brady Burns. The guests took a 2-1 lead heading into singles as Marc Feliu and Troy Zhang topped Koby Bonta and Landon Strober, 8-5.
Singles
- Hoegstedt, ranked #17 in the Atlantic South Region, swept Feliu, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 1 singles and Strober handled Kulakami, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 2 singles to give WC a 3-2 lead.
- Vivek Harinarayan won at No. 3 singles for Stevens as he won, 6-3, 6-1, over Bonta.
- Kawai prevailed at No. 4 singles in straight sets over Matt Luzzi to put the Shoremen ahead 4-3.
- Wroe would even the match at No. 5 singles as he earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Burns.
- In No. 6 singles, Stevens' Philip Szkudlarski won the first set 6-3 over Washington's Aaradith Ravichandran before Ravichandran returned the favor in the second set, 6-3. In the third set, Ravichandran led 5-4 with had match point, but Szkudlaski would rally to win the point to tie the third set at 5-5. He would go on to win the next two games to win 7-5 and give the Ducks the match.
Notes
- Washington is 2-1 overall, while Stevens improves to 2-3 on the season.
- No. 5 and No. 6 singles were completed inside due to darkness.
