Shoremen Take Care of Bullets, 7-2

Washington Improves to 29-0 All-Time Against Gettysburg

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The visiting Washington College men's tennis team improved its all-time record against host Gettysburg to 29-0 with a 7-2 win at the Bullets Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference men's tennis action.  The Shoremen entered the match ranked 14th in the Atlantic South Region.

Doubles
- Karl Hoegstedt and Andrew Smith, ranked 11th in doubles, got WC off to a strong start with an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles over Gettysburg's duo of Alex Kagan and Michael Zayneh.
- Brady Burns and Ryohei Kawai gave the Shoremen a 2-0 lead with an 8-2 victory over the Bullets' tandem of Alec Shalk and Hayden Strittmatter at No. 3 doubles.
- Gettysburg got a win at No. 2 doubles in the final doubles match to conclude as Michael Fellman and Matt Rau edged WC's Koby Bonta and Landon Strober, 8-6.

Singles
- Aaradith Ravichandran picked up a win at No. 6 in the opening singles match to finish with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Strittmatter.
- Burns notched another win for Washington at No. 5 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Zach Lachance.
- Bonta clinched the triumph for the Shoremen with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Rau at No. 4 singles.
- Hoegstedt, ranked 10th in the region, won in straight sets at No. 1 against Kagan, 6-1, 6-4. 
- Kawai netted the visitors' last win of the afternoon at No. 3 as he got the better of Zayneh, 6-1, 1-6, 6-2.
- Fellman registered the Bullets' lone win in singles as he topped Strober, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2.

Notes
- Washington is 9-5 overall, while Gettysburg drops to 7-6 on the season.  The Shoremen are 4-1 in the conference, while the Bullets are 1-4.
