Sweep Doubles and Take Five of Six in Singles

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College, ranked 14th in the Atlantic South region, swept doubles and captured five of six matches in singles to capture an 8-1 win over Dickinson on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference men's tennis action at Schottland Tennis Center.

Doubles
- Karl Hoegstedt and Andrew Smith, ranked 12th in the region in doubles, topped Dickinson's duo of Will Lewis and Romano De Caprio, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles.
- In No. 2 doubles, Brady Burns and Ryohei Kawai prevailed 8-3 over the Red Devils' Thomas Griffin and Garrick Adams.
- Christian Gruyon and Landon Strober completed the sweep for the Shorewomen in doubles at No. 3 with an 8-5 victory over Levi Veleanu and DJ Finnell.

Singles
- Strober won, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 1 singles over Adams and Kawai swept Griffin at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-4.
- Burns captured victory over Veleanu at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-0.
- De Caprio picked up Dickinson's lone win on the day at No. 4 singles with a 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6) win over Andrew Province.
- Aaradith Ravichandran downed Lewis at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
- Smith got the better of Florian Anderson at No. 6 singles, 6-4, 7-5.

Notes
- Washington is now 7-4 overall and 2-0 in the Centennial, while Dickinson drops to 4-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
