Box Score 2 Allentown, PA - The Washington College softball team was swept by Muhlenberg on the final day of the regular season as the Shorewomen came up just short in their bid for a Centennial Conference Tournament berth. The Mules (19-19, 10-6) won 3-0 and 5-0 to earn the second seed in the CC playoffs while the Shorewomen finish the season at 16-19 (8-8 C.C.).

How It Happened
- Starting pitcher Raya Kunes helped her own cause when she led off the third inning with a single. Two outs later, Genna Cicchetti singled in pinch-runner Jane Banahan with the first run of the game.
- The Shorewomen came close to tying the score in the top of the fifth, but Kaya Mahy made a tremendous play with two outs and a runner on third, ranging far to her left to snag a ground ball and throwing across her body to nip sophomore third baseman Hannah Solge at first.
- Muhlenberg extended its lead in the bottom of the inning on a two-out, two-run single by senior Kristen Oberg.
- Washington had the bases loaded with one out in the fifth before Kaitlyn Buurman started an inning-ending 3-2-3 double play.
- Kunes fielded a comebacker with two runs in scoring position in the seventh to end the game.

- Solge went 2-for-4.
-Junior catcher Lexie Witmer was 2-for-2 with a double and a walk.
Pitching
-Sophomore Lexi Barnhart fell to 9-10 after allowing three earned runs on nine hits over 6.0 innings.
For the Mules
Hitting
-Cicchetti was 3-for-3 (RBI) with a run scored.
-Olberg finished 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI.
Pitching
-Kunes blanked the Shorewomen on eight hits over 7.0 innings.
Game 2, Muhlenberg 5, Shorewomen 0
- Madison Palat singled in the first run of the game in the fourth, and the score remained 1-0 until the bottom of the sixth.
- Palat brought in the first of four runs in the sixth with her second RBI single, and three additional runs came in on a bases-loaded hit by pitch, a groundout and an infield error.

-Five players had one hit each, including freshman left fielder Lilly Cook (double)

-Freshman Gen Kozub fell to 8-8 after allowing four earned runs over 5.1 innings.
