Box Score WC Sweeps Doubles and Takes Five of Six in Singles
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Visiting Washington College, ranked 14th in the Atlantic South Region, topped host Ursinus, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference men's tennis action at Perkiomen Valley High School.

Doubles
- Washington won all three doubles to lead 3-0. The duo of Aaradith Ravichandran and Ryohei Kawai won at No. 3 doubles for the Shoremen's first victory over the Bears' tandem of Noah Mandel and Ethan Yu, 8-1. Finishing next was No. 1 doubles and the WC tandem of Karl Hoegstedt and Andrew Smith, ranked 11th in the Atlantic South Region, came away with an 8-1 triumph over Ursinus' Lars Jespersen and Will Oberholtzer. The Shoremen's No. 2 doubles team completed the sweep in doubles as Landon Strober and Christian Gruyon captured an 8-6 victory over the Bears' team of Darby Rogers and Rob Ritchie.
Singles
- Strober was the first to finish and got the win at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1 over Oberholtzer.
- Gruyon clinched the victory for WC at No. 6 over Simbarashe Kanjanda, 6-4, 6-3.
- Hoegstedt, ranked 10th in the region, finished next and topped Jespersen, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
- Kawai was next to complete a win for Washington at No. 3 singles in a 6-4, 6-0 over Ritchie at No. 3.
- Rogers picked up the Bears lone win of the afternoon at No. 4 as he topped Andrew Province, 1-6, 6-4, 10-7.
- Ravichandran concluded the afternoon at No. 5 singles with 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 victory over Yu.
Notes
- Washington is 8-4 overall, while Ursinus falls to 7-4 on the season. The Shoremen are 3-0 in the conference, while the Bears slip to 2-2.
