LANCASTER, Pa. – The Washington College men's swimming team went 1-2 in its season opening quad-meet against Dickinson, Ursinus and host Franklin & Marshall at the Kunkel Aquatics Center in Centennial Conference men's swimming action on Saturday afternoon. The Shoremen topped Dickinson 146-114, but fell to host F&M, 187.5-73.5, and Ursinus 152-108.   Â

Shoremen Highlights

Zach Affeldt won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:11.77) and grabbed second in the 200 individual medley (2:00.93).

Chase Hensen grabbed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.57) and fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.22).

James Hackett earned a fourth place finish in the 200 freestyle (1:49.57).

William Schmidt secured fourth in the 100 backstroke (55.20).

Shane Brace was fourth in the 200 butterfly (2:06.85).
- The 400 freestyle relay team of Hensen,
Mike Lee,
Justin Fitzpatrick and Schmidt finished fourth with a time of 3:17.83.
- In the 200 medley relay, the quartet or Schmidt, Henson, Fitzpatrick and
Jay Dadhania netted fourth in 1:38.88.
Notes
- The Shoremen are now 1-2 overall and 1-2 in the Centennial. The Diplomats are 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the Centennial, the Bears are 2-1 and 2-1 respectively and the Red Devils are 1-2 and 1-2 respectively. F&M topped Dickinson (200-60) and Ursinus (168-93), while Ursinus got the better of Dickinson (171-87).
