KISSIMMEE, Fla – The Washington College softball team wrapped up the Spring break trip to Florida in style with a pair of wins. In game one, the Shorewomen racked up twenty runs in a big 20-6 win over the University of New England. In game two, the Shorewomen avenged a loss early in the week with a 7-3 win over Hamline. The sweep today puts the Shorewomen's record in Flordia at 5-5 with wins in four the final five games.Â

This was the second meeting this week between the Shorewomen and Hamline. The Pipers took game on 2-0 on Tuesday with strong pitching and a couple of timely hits. That would not be the case this time as Washington rallied for four runs in the fifth to take the lead for good in a 7-3 win.

-The Shorewomen jumped out in front on a
Lexie Witmer solo homer. Witmer was at it again in the third with an RBI-double to push the lead to 2-0.Â

-Hamilne struck back in the third, tying the game up at two before taking a 3-2 lead in the fourth through an RBI single by L Lecher.Â

-Washington turned the game around when
Jules Weglarz smacked a homer out to right center for her first of the season.
Mia Mavoides and
Chloe Trefz provided insurance with RBI singles to push the lead to four.Â

Gen Kozub came on in relief of
Brynn Balliet in the sixth. Kozub threw two shutout frames to keep the Shorewomen out in front for a 7-3 win.Â

Gen Kozub went two scoreless giving up just one walk.  Â
