Shoremen Lacrosse 2025 Season Preview

Chestertown, MD- Shoremen Lacrosse is back in action starting on February 15, against Berry College. The squad will open their season with five consecutive games at home. 

Last Season:
In 2024, the Shoremen finished 6-11 overall, with a 4-4 record in Centennial Conference play. Washington College also made their return to the postseason following an 18-14 shootout win over Gettysburg. The Shoremen would fall in the first round of the playoffs in a 13-11 affair, once again with the Bullets.

Returning for the Shoremen: 
Ben Dickinson will return to the Shoremen's lineup for his senior season. In the previous campaign, he led the Shoremen in total points, (39) and totaled 27 goals with 12 assists off of 105 shots. Cam Carrigan saw a breakout season in 2024 as well, finding the back of the net 24 times including two game winning goals. Goalkeepers Will Charvala and Colin Gray will make their returns as well. Charvala made 9 starts in 12 appearances with 124 saves and three goalkeeper wins. Gray made 10 appearances, starting in eight contests where he tallied 77 saves and two victories.

"We are looking forward to building on our successes from the  tail end of last year. We beat some good conference teams by shooting the ball well and playing great team defense. That will be our focus as we start the 2025 season."

Important Matchups: 
The Shoremen will play host to their first five opponents, with four of them being rematches of last season, in a stretch where the Shoremen went 1-4 against their opponents. The Shoremen have a rematch with Skidmore as well on March 17, who they outdueled last season 16-15. Centennial Conference play begins for the Shoremen on March 22 against Dickinson College at a time which is to be announced. The squad will round out Conference play with a road rematch against Gettysburg on April 19, with a time also to be announced. Finally the Shoremen will end their regular season with the annual War on the Shore, where the team will host Salisbury on April 25 at 7pm.
