LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior pitcher Lexi Barnhart (West Grove, Pa./Avon Grove) was named the Centennial Conference Co-Pitcher of the Year and the coaching staff was the Centennial's Coaching Staff of the Year as the Centennial announced its annual softball awards today following a vote by the conference's nine head coaches.

softballcoaches_24The coaching staff of head coach Sally Snover and assistant coaches Eric Widger and Fran Mazza was selected as the Centennial's Coaching Staff of the Year.  The staff guided the team to its 10th all-time Centennial Tournament and second top seed, the other coming in 2016.  This is the fifth time Washington College has had the coach of the year/coaching staff of the year as Snover won the former in 2021.

Barnhart, who shared the award with Gettysburg's Paige Forry, is the first Washington pitcher to win the honor on two occasions as she won it previously in 2021.  In the circle, she went 8-10 with a 3.25 ERA in 110 innings this season with nine complete games and 60 strikeouts.  Barnhart pitched in 20 contests, starting 19 times.  In Centennial play, the senior went 5-2 with a 2.00 ERA in eight appearances, going the distance seven times with 36 strikeouts in 49 innings.  Through the end of the Centennial Conference Tournament, she was tied for fifth in the conference in strikeouts.  At the plate, she hit .264 with 11 RBI, but stepped up in conference games with a .342 average.  Barnhart is a three-time All-Centennial selection, previously earning first team honors in 2021 and second team recognition in 2023.  In her four seasons in the circle, she went 33-28 with a 3.57 ERA in 409.1 innings with 271 strikeouts in 83 appearances and at the plate, Barnhart hit .307 with two home runs, 54 RBI, 44 runs and 107 hits in 125 contests.

Cook, who was selected to all-conference for the first time, led the team with a .352 batting average and also led the squad in hits (37), doubles (10), RBI (26) and total bases (55) as she hit two home runs on the season to go along with seven steals.  She plated 19 of her 26 runs in Centennial play, the most in conference-only games by any player.  In CC contests, she was seventh in slugging (.596) and on-base percentage plus slugging (1.035).  Through the end of the conference tournament, she ranks eighth in slugging percentage (.524), tied for eighth in home runs (2) and RBI and 10th in OPS (.928).  In 107 career games, she is hitting .306 with three home runs, 42 RBI, 53 runs and 88 hits.

Harper was named all-conference for the second time as she was a second team pick last spring.  In 2024, she was second on the team with a .348 batting average with a home run and 21 RBI, ranking tops in on-base percentage (.410) and sacrifice flies (4), second on the squad in batting average, RBI, slugging (.472) and OPS (.882), tied for second in hits (31) and third in doubles (9).  Harper tallied 21 of her 31 hits in Centennial Conference contests, which was ranked sixth along with her .429 batting average in CC games.  She was also fourth in slugging (.633), tied for fourth in RBI in conference tilts and was fifth in OPS (1.069).  Through the end of the Centennial Tournament, Harper tied for tops in the conference in sacrifice flies.  In two seasons with the team, she is hitting .341 with 27 runs, 58 hits, three home runs and 30 RBI in 64 career games, 54 starts.

Rosche, a first-time All-Centennial pick, set career highs in multiple categories this spring.  At the plate, Rosche hit .375 with five RBI in 24 games, 22 starts.  She scored five runs and tallied a pair of doubles.  The 24 games and 22 starts were career bests for the junior.  In 41 career contests, 32 starts, she is hitting .271 with nine RBI.

Unzueta, a first-time honoree, transferred to Washington this season from Division II Alderson Broaddus in West Virginia.  At the plate, the junior hit .310 with a home run and 15 RBI in 38 games, 37 starts.  She smacked a team-high three triples and tied for second on the team in hits with 31.  Through the end of the conference tournament, she is tied for fifth in the CC in three-baggers.  In Centennial Conference games, she was ninth in slugging (.561) and OPS (1.008).  In three seasons between Alderson Broaddus and Washington College, the junior is hitting .314 with two homers, 37 RBI, 54 runs and 88 hits in 120 career games, 88 starts.
