OCEANPORT, N.J.– The Washington College sailing team traveled to New Jersey on Saturday and finished fourth out of eight teams at The John Quinn on the Shrewsbury River that was hosted by Monmouth. The two-day regatta became a one-day event as all eight of its races conclude on Saturday.
The John Quinn
- Sophomore
Austin Latimer and freshman
Imogene Nuss guided the Shore Sailors to a second place finish in the A Division with 22 points. Latimer served as the skipper for the first six races, while Nuss was the skipper for the final two races. The duo had four second place finishes in the eight races. George Washington won the division with nine points.
- In the B Division, sophomore skipper
Matt Nadolny and senior crew
Hunter Ward placed sixth with 47 points, earning the sixth place spot in a tiebreaker over Rutgers. Princeton won the division with nine points.
- George Washington won the regatta with 28 points, while Washington College had 69 points. Princeton was second with 35 points and Villanova was third with 67 points.
Notes
- Wind conditions for the race had light shifty conditions.
- WC had a chance for third overall by beating a competitor's boat by two places, but were unable to in the last downwind as it could not sail around a group bunched in the front of the boat.
