Brooklyn, NY– The women of the Washington College Sailing team competed in the MAISA Women's Fall Dinghy. The team placed 13th out of 15 teams beating out Princeton and University of Virginia.
Summary
Saturday, October 25:
- It was a tricky day on western Long Island Sound, with breeze from the North, at 8-10kts. A Division complete 10 races while B Division completed 8, in two separate fleets. Thank you to Kings Point Sailing for allow us to use their FJs for the event.
- Cornell and Georgetown find themselves out ahead of the pack, both looking to secure a Conference Championship to end the Fall 2025 season.
Sunday, October 26:
- Sunday provided great conditions to rifle off the last 10 races of the regatta. 4 in A, 6 in B. 14 races we completed by 12:30, and allowed everyone to take off and get home early.
- Breeze shifted right providing some of the best spectating in college sailing, with the line set 100 yards off the Fordham University Waterfront Center pier.
How It Happened
Women's Championship Regatta
- The Shorewomen A division ended the weekend with 165 points where the B division offered 175 points for the team total of 340 on the weekend. The best finish for the A division was race 10 where they placed seventh. The B division had a best finish on the 12th race where they placed ninth.
- Imogene Nuss and Soledad Fintel served at skipper and crew for the A division and Nora Ciak and Abby Wyman teamed up as skipper and crew for the B division.
