BRISTOL, Pa. – The Washington College sailing team earned a fifth-place result on Saturday at the Tiger Women's Open hosted by Princeton that was held at the Anchor Yacht Club on the Delaware River. The Shore Sailors were third in the A Division and fifth in the B Division. There was a total of seven teams that competed at the regatta with each division participating in five races.
Tiger Women's Open
- In the A Division, Washington College placed third with 17 points and was skippered by freshman
Imogene Nuss and serving as crew was freshman
Lucy Sunderland. The duo earned a first-place finish in the first race.
- American won the A Division with 11 points, while Princeton was second with 16.
- In the B Division, Shore Sailing's boat earned fifth being skippered by sophomore
Nora Ciak with freshman
Dru Schimke-Goetz being the crew. This was the first time Ciak has skippered a boat for WC in a race and this regatta served as the WC debut for Schimke-Goetz.
- WC finished with 27 points in the B Division. Princeton 1 won the B Division with nine points while Delaware was second with 11 points.
Notes
- Princeton 1 won the regatta with 25 points, edging American by a single point as American had 26 points. Washington College totaled 44 points in its fifth-place finish.
