Sailing Earns Second After Head-To-Head Tiebreaker in Home Regatta

Chestertown, MD– The Washington College Sailing team hosted the Washington College Fall Open Regatta. The Shoremen and Shorewomen finished in second place after a head-to-head tiebreaker with leader, Princeton University.  

How It Happened 

Washington Fall Open  

  • The A Division sailors earned 15 points with three first place finishes in races 2,5, and 7. The B Division earned 14 points with one first place finish in race 2 and five second place finishes in races 3-7.  
  • Imogene Nuss and Olivia Hall served as skipper and crew for the A Division and George Wood and Soledad Fintel were skipper and crew for the B Division.  
  • The Shoremen and Shorewomen finished up sailing on Saturday because of impending weather on Sunday.  

Up Next 
The Washington College Sailing Team will travel back to Newport News, VA to race in the Luce Regatta next weekend, October 18th-19th.
