GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Washington College men's swim team went 1-2 in its season opening quad-meet against Johns Hopkins and McDaniel and host Gettysburg at Bullets Pool in Centennial Conference men's swimming action on Saturday afternoon. The Shoremen downed McDaniel, 197-49, but fell to Johns Hopkins, 208-51, and host Gettysburg, 201-59.  Â

Shoremen Highlights

Nathan Rawa had WC's top finishes with a second-place result in the 50-yard freestyle (21.09) and third-place finish in the 100 backstroke (52.00). The junior was also sixth in the 200 individual medley (2:00.92).

James Hackett secured a sixth-place time in the 100 freestyle of 48.21.

Shane Brace was fifth in the 200 breaststroke (2:27.66).

Brody Salpeter landed sixth in the 200 breaststroke (2:31.30).
- The 200 freestyle relay quartet of Hackett,
Jackson Rooney,
Mike Lee and
Niles Commodore were fourth (1:29.31).
Notes
- The Shoremen are now 1-2 overall and 1-2 in the Centennial. The Blue Jays, who downed Gettysburg 182-78 and McDaniel 213-38 are 3-0 and 3-0 respectively. The Bullets, who are 2-1 and 2-1 respectively, won 216-37 over the Green Terror. The Green Terror are 0-3 overall and 0-3 in the Centennial after today's quad meet.
