Rawa Sets Two Program Records at This Weekend’s F&M Invitational

Washington Places Ninth out of Nine Teams

LANCASTER, Pa. – Junior Nathan Rawa (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) set program records in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle and had four top six finishes as the Washington College men's swim team competed at the 2025 Franklin & Marshall Invitational held Friday night through Sunday evening at the Kunkel Aquatics Center. The Shoremen finished ninth of nine teams with 529 points in an invite that comprised of schools from NCAA Divisions II and III.

Shoremen Individuals That Scored Points
- Nathan Rawa on Friday became program's fastest-ever swimmer in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.81 in the preliminary round. In the finals, Rawa improved on that mark in 20.80, earning a third-place finish in the event. He broke a nine-year old record that was set by Cody Weiler '18 at the 2016 Centennial Conference Championships (20.88). On Sunday, he bested his own top all-time mark in the 100 freestyle with a time of 46.14 in the preliminary round in the morning and in the night session, placed sixth with a time of 46.21. On Saturday night, he earned second in the 100 back with a time of 50.48 and in the 100 butterfly was fourth in 50.18. The junior owns the team's best time in the history of the program in five different events (50 and 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly and 100 individual medley).  
- Connor Kravitz-Yoffee was seventh in the 1650 freestyle (16:53.52) on Sunday night and 12th in the 500 freestyle (4:48.22) on Friday evening.
- Niles Commodore landed in seventh in the 100 individual medley on Sunday morning with a time of 55.58 and that mark places him seventh all-time at WC. He was 18th in the 100 butterfly on Saturday evening (51.48).
rooney_26_act1_mswim- Jackson Rooney finished 14th in the 200 freestyle on Saturday night (1:45.05) and secured 16th in the 500 freestyle (4:50.99) on Friday night. The freshman entered the program's top 10 in both events in 10th with preliminary times of 1:44.77 in the 200 free during the day on Saturday and 4:50.35 in the 500 free in the first session on Friday.
- Shane Brace took home 15th in the 200 individual medley on Sunday night (1:59.68).
- James Hackett picked up the 20th place points in the 200 freestyle on Saturday in the final session (1:46.28) and on Sunday secured 22nd in the 100 freestyle (48.44).
- Gabe Summa landed in 21st in the 100 backstroke on Saturday evening (54.14) and 22nd in the 200 backstroke on Sunday night (2:05.21).
- Brody Salpeter placed 23rd in the 400 individual medley on Saturday night (4:35.92) and 24th in the 200 breaststroke on Sunday night (2:21.21).
- Ethan Cronin was 24th in the 1650 freestyle on Sunday morning (19:03.04).

Shoremen Relays That Scored Points
- The 400-yard medley relay four of Summa, Rawa, Commodore and Hackett netted 10th on Friday night in 3:29.58. Placing 16th was the team of Kravitz-Yoffee, Salpeter, Brace and Mike Lee (3:40.30).
- In the 200 freestyle relay, the team of Commodore, Rawa, Rooney and Lee finished in 11th place in 1:26.07 on Friday night. Earning 17th with a time of 1:28.75 was Lee, Summa, Brace and Salpeter.
- On Saturday night, the 800 freestyle relay team of Rooney, Hackett, Kravitz-Yoffee and Salpeter earned 11th (7:15.64) and the quartet of Lee, CJ Deleeuw, Carson Dolezal and Cronin placed 15th (7:48.88).
- On Saturday evening, two relay teams scored points in the 200 medley relay with a tied for sixth result from Summa, Rawa, Commodore and Rooney (1:33.75) and the squad of Lee, Salpeter, Brace and Hackett were 15th (1:41.10).
- On Sunday night in the 400 freestyle relay, the foursome of Rooney, Rawa, Hackett and Lee were eighth (3:09.25) and the quad Commodore, Summa, Kravitz-Yoffee and Salpeter were 15th (3:18.23).

Notes
- Bloomsburg won the event with 1,553.5 points, 191 points ahead of second place Mary Washington (1,362.5). Rowan was third (1,340.5) and finishing fourth was Swarthmore (888). Fifth through ninth were host Franklin & Marshall (794.5), Shippensburg (745), Kutztown (561) and Washington College (529). Bloomsburg, Shippensburg and Kutztown are Division II programs and the rest are from Division III.
- In individual events, swimmers who finished first through eighth were in the A Final, ninth through 16th in the B Final and 17th through 24th in the C Final.  Swimmers were placed in each final based on preliminary time.  The only events that were an exception to this were the 100 individual medley and 1650 freestyle where there was just a final.
