LANCASTER, Pa. – Washington College softball senior
Chloe Trefz (Shamong, N.J./Seneca), women's lacrosse junior
MaryCate Anson (Newark, Del./Newark Charter) and baseball junior
Drew Kinsey (Monkton, Md./Hereford) have been recognized as the Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for softball, women's lacrosse and baseball respectively by the Centennial Conference today. Trefz, Anson and Kinsey are three of the seven Washington College spring student-athletes to be named Academic All-Centennial and 57 to be named to the conference's Spring Academic Honor Roll.
The scholar-athlete of the year goes to the student-athlete who had the high grade-point average who earned All-Centennial Conference recognition that is a junior or senior.
The trio are all the Centennial Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for their respective sport for the first time.
Trefz, an Economics major, is the conference's scholar-athlete of the year in softball. This is the third straight year a softball player from Washington has won the award as
Lexi Barnhart '24 took home the prize each of the past two years. Trefz becomes the third member of the Shorewomen Nine, and fourth time for the squad, to procure the award as Barnhart (2023-24) and
Christine Anderson '15 (2014) were the previous recipients.
Anson, an Environmental Science and Biology major, is the women's lacrosse scholar-athlete of the year for the Centennial. It is also the third consecutive year that Shorewomen Lacrosse has produced the Centennial's Scholar-Athlete of the Year and fourth time overall. Anson joins
Anna Inserra '17 (2016),
Morgan Sutherland '24 (2023) and
Abby Laubach '24 (2024).
Kinsey, a Computer Science major, is the baseball scholar-athlete of the year. He is the second in Shoremen Nine history to obtain the award, joining
Max Ruvo '22, who won it in 2021.
Washington College student-athletes have been named the Centennial's Scholar-Athlete of the Year 21 times since the inception of the award for the 2013-14 school year.
To qualify for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average.
Academic All-Centennial honors are bestowed upon student-athletes who are named All-Centennial Conference and earn a spot on the Academic Honor Roll in the same season.
Joining Trefz, Anson and Kinsey as Academic All-Centennial are senior

Mia Mavoides (Phoenix, Ariz./Arcadia) of softball and senior
Aaradith Ravichandran (Chennai, India/APL Global School) and sophomore
Tichi Chialva (Cordoba, Argentina/LaSalle HS) of men's tennis. Kinsey, Ravichandran and Trefz are two-time Academic All-Centennial, while Anson, Chialva, Mavoides and Turner were inaugural honorees.

Everitt, Halfpenny, Kinsey, Miller, Philiposian, Ruppel, SanFilippo, Titus and Turner were selected to the Academic Honor Roll for the second time and Aponte, Baldassarre, Dardaris, DiMauro, Friedman, Knighton and Lewis made it for the first time.
Men's golf had two selected to the Academic Honor Roll and they were senior
Colby Byer (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) and junior
Ben McCumber (Pottstown, Pa./Cedar Crest). The duo are both two-time qualifiers.
Men's lacrosse had eight make the Academic Honor Roll. Seniors

Owen Boone (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill),
Ben Hazlehurst (Phoenix, Md./Friends School) and
Logan Trombley (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) and sophomores
Colin Gray (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck),
Jake Laubach (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township),
Tuck LeVanis (Ruxton, Md./Boys' Latin) and
Connor Updegraff (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) all secured a spot. Hazlehurst, Trombley and White made it for the second consecutive year in men's lacrosse and Boone, Gray, Laubach, LeVanis and Updegraff are first time honorees.
Women's lacrosse had 15 tabbed to the Academic Honor Roll. Joining Anson were seniors

Lexi Vennera (New Tripoli, Pa./Southwestern Lehigh) all earned a spot. Fisher is a three-time selection, Andrews, Anson, Baldwin, Drusano, Maggi, Manos and Seashole have been tabbed twice and Braswell, Colwell, Howell, Kissinger, Maciorowski, Rock and Vennera are first-time qualifiers.

Emmie Meeks (Broomfield, Colo./Broomfield) and
Julia Weglarz (Bear, Del./Appoquinimink) and sophomore
Julia Guzman (Staten Island, N.Y./Moore Catholic). Cook and Trefz were recognized for the third straight year, Foulk, Harper, Kozub, Mavoides, Meeks and Weglarz garnered a spot for the second consecutive year and Guzman is a first-time recipient.
Men's tennis had five land on the Academic Honor Roll. Joining Ravichandran and Chialva was senior
Johannes Ludwigstorff (Guntersdorf, Austria/Bundesgymnasium Hollabrunn), junior
Kohl Perkins (Lynchburg, Va./Virginia Episcopal School) and sophomore
Jorge Urgal Zuelta (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic/St. Michael's School). Ludwigstorff and Ravichandran are three-time selections, Perkins was named for the second time and Chialva and Zuleta are inaugural members.
Junior
Isabella Sorhegui (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) was the lone representative from women's tennis to be placed on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. Sorhegui is on it for the second straight year.
The Centennial had 1,028 total student-athletes tabbed to the Academic Honor Roll and 176 earn Academic All-Centennial this spring.
