Monmouth, NJ – The Washington College Sailing Team traveled to NJ to compete in The John Quinn Regatta. The Shoremen and Shorewomen had two teams, each with an A and B division. The Shoremen 1 team finished second of ten and Shoremen 2 finished in eighth place.
The John Quinn
Shoremen 1
- The A division recorded three third place finishes on races 4,5, and 8. The division total came to 36. The B division recorded four first place finishes on races 2,3,4, and 8. They finished second in race 5 and third in race 7, recording a total score of 18, two points behind first place. The total points for Shoremen 1 was 54, 20 points out of first place.
- Sailing in Division A was Austin Latimer at skipper and Nora Ciak at crew. For Division B, Alexander Salzberg served as skipper with Rachel Morgen at crew.
Shoremen 2
- Division A for the second Washington College team had their best finish in race 3 with a fourth place finish and a fifth place finish in race 8. Their total points for all races was 57. Division B had a fifth place finish also in race 8 and recorded 66 points for all races. The team total score was 123.
- At skipper for Division A, Shoremen 2 had John Tonzola for races 1-4 and 7-8, Imogene Ness for races 5-6. At crew, Abby Wyman for races 1-4 and Ethan Rower for races 5-8. For Division B, George Wood was skipper for all races with Soledad Fintel for races 1-2, and 7-8, and Olivia Hall for races 3-6.
