Chestertown, MD- The Washington College Sailing Team opened up their competition at home as they hosted four teams during the Central Series 1. The team took first place with a combined score of 66. 

Sailors were welcomed to Chestertown to ideal sailing conditions. Wind from the West started at 5kts and built over the course of the day to a brisk 10kts with some big puffs. Sailors raced in combined divisions with a short lunch break. After race nine, racing was abandoned due to weather at 3 PM. With the lightning forecast for the rest of the day and the poor conditions tomorrow, RC made the decision to end the regatta at 9 races. Thank you to the Washington College sailors who all had a turn at running RC throughout the day. Thank you to all teams for coming to race and congratulations to WAC for winning the Central Fall 1. 

Central Series 1 

• The A division sailors recorded two first place finishes in races three and four. They also added in two second place finishes in races two and six. The B division recorded three first place finishes in races five, six, and eight, and they added in two second place finishes with races nine and seven. The Shoremen and Shorewomen ended the day with 66 total points, 34 from the A division and 33 from the B.  
• Imogene Nuss served as skipper for all A division races with Rachel Morgen at crew for races 1-4 and Ethan Rower at crew for races 5-10. In the B division, Jack Tonzola was the skipper for races 1-4 and Alex Salzberg for races 5-10, and Abby Wyman and Morgen split their time at crew with Wyman for races 1-4 and Morgen 5-10.
