LANCASTER, Pa. – Junior attackman
Peyton Gestole (Sudlersville, Md./Queen Anne's County) has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week in men's lacrosse for the week of April 6-12. This is Gestole's second time receiving the Centennial's weekly award in his career.
Gestole earned weekly accolades for the second time in the past three weeks after totalaing 11 points on six goals and five assists in a 2-0 week for the Shoremen. The junior capped a three-goal, four-point performance with the golden goal with 1:03 left in overtime in a 12-11 win on Saturday at Haverford for his second walk-off score of the season. On Wednesday in an 18-3 victory at McDaniel, Gestole led all players with four assists and seven points and tied for game-best in goals with three. He tallied the assist on the goal that put WC ahead for good at 3-2 with 3:07 to go in the stanza.
The junior previously won the award two weeks ago on March 31.
