LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomore middle hitter Bethany Haughton (Landsdowne, Pa./Springside Chestnut Hill Academy) has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week for volleyball for the week of September 7-13 by the conference office. This is the first time the sophomore has won the conference's weekly award.

Haughton averaged 1.42 blocks per set in two matches this week. In Wednesday's four-setter at Arcadia, she had five blocks to set a career-best. On Saturday in a three-set sweep of Penn State Brandywine, the sophomore matched her career-high with five blocks.  

Haughton is the first Shorewomen Volleyball player to earn the defensive player of the week award from the Centennial since Anna Titter earned it on September 9, 2025.
