Box Score Jamrogowicz Finishes Two Boards Shy of
Triple Double
CHESTERTOWN, MD – Host Washington College
sprinted out to a 22-0 lead over the first 5:33 of the game and
never looked back en route to a 79-33 Centennial Conference women's
basketball victory over visiting Bryn Mawr tonight inside Cain
Athletic Center. The Shorewomen improved to 8-12 overall and 6-9 in
conference play with the win, while the loss dropped the Owls to
2-17 and 0-15.
The Shorewomen converted on nine of their first 12
shots, including four from three-point range, to jump out to the
big early lead. Washington held a 41-16 advantage at halftime.
Senior guard Jessica Jamrogowicz (Marlton,
NJ/Bishop Eustace) turned in a near triple-double for the
Shorewomen, scoring 10 points, dishing out 11 assists, and hauling
down eight rebounds. Senior forward Julie Sherwood
(Fairfield, CT/Fairfield Warde) led the Shorewomen in
scoring with a career-high 14 points and also collected seven
rebounds, while sophomore guard/forward Sally O'Donnell
(Cape May Court House, NJ/Wildwood Catholic) added 13
points. Freshman center Erin Kile (Benton,
PA/Benton) scored 12 points and grabbed eight caroms,
while freshman forward Jenny Lee (Wilmington, DE/Mount
Pleasant) had a career night, scoring a career-best 10
points and grabbing a career-high eight rebounds.
Two Bryn Mawr players accounted for 31 of the Owls'
33 points as Shanika Bridges-King scored a
game-high 16 points, tracked down eight rebounds, and swiped five
steals, while Emilie Naccarato scored 15 points
and tallied six boards.
Washington shot 48% from the field in the game,
including 59% in the second half. Bryn Mawr shot just 24% for the
game. The Shorewomen also enjoyed a 47-26 advantage on the boards.
Washington returns to action Wednesday with a 6:00
p.m. Centennial Conference home game against Haverford.
