Washington Cruises to Seventh Win of
Season
CHESTERTOWN, MD -- Host Washington College rolled
past visiting St. Mary's (MD), 9-0, in a non-conference men's
tennis match this afternoon inside the Lifetime Fitness Center. The
Shoremen improved to 7-1 with the win, while the Seahawks dropped
to 8-5 with the loss.
Sophomore Aaron Ellison (Largo, FL/St.
Petersburg) and sophomore Kevin Papen (Dover,
DE/Caesar Rodney) led off doubles with an 8-1 win over
Kyle Feeley and Jeff Levy at No.
2. Junior Andrew Laux (Mt. Sinai, NY/Mt. Sinai)
and senior Timothy Parks (Geneva, Switzerland/College du
Leman) then completed an 8-2 win over Sam
Barton and Thomas Hoesman at No. 1.
Freshman Josh Hedrick (Dover, DE/Dover) and
freshman Graham Kaltman (Harleysville, PA/Germantown
Academy) were 8-0 winners against Elliot
Russell and Chip Compton at No. 3.
Sophomore Kyle Lisco (Toms River, NJ/Toms
River North) began singles with an 8-0 win over Feeley at
No. 3. Papen then defeated Hoesman, 8-0, at No. 1 to clinch the
win. Ellison added an 8-0 victory against Barton at No. 2. Laux
beat Levy, 8-2, at No. 4, sophomore John Menzione (Chadds
Ford, PA/Kennett) trumped Russell, 8-0, at No. 5, and
junior Kristian Wilson (Germantown, PA/home
school) downed Compton, 8-0, at No. 6 to round out
singles.
The Shoremen return to action tomorrow with a 3:30
p.m. Centennial Conference match at Haverford.
