Box Score CHESTERTOWN, Md. -- Visiting Muhlenberg College, ranked 20th in the latest D3Soccer.com Top 25, defeated host Washington College, 3-0, in a Centennial Conference men's soccer game this afternoon. The Mules improved to 8-1-2 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play with the win, while the Shoremen fell to 4-7-1 and 0-4-1 with the loss.
Lance Dotzman put the Mules on the board at 22:28 when he scored off a free kick from Travis Wantchekon. Tommy Hoffman added Muhlenberg's second goal at 29:39 as the Mules took the 2-0 lead into halftime. Nick Sarkos provided Muhlenberg's third goal at 61:11.
Muhlenberg finished the game with an 11-7 edge in shots and an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks. Danny Pinto made a pair of saves in the shutout for the Mules, while sophomore goalkeeper Jon Wendeborn (Lambertville, N.J./South Hunterdon) made three stops for the Shoremen.
Senior midfielder Matt Wilfong (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) had a team-best two shots for Washington.
The Shoremen return to action Wednesday with a 4:00 p.m. non-conference home game against Immaculata.
