ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Washington College sailing team finished its 2014-15 season with a first-place performance among four teams at the Jeremy A. Pinkerton Memorial at the Severn Sailing Association in Annapolis, Md. The regatta was finished in one day on Saturday.
Sophomore skipper Alex Smith (Wantagh, N.Y./General Douglas MacArthur) and freshman crew Bridgette Hindt (Clayton, Del./Smyrna) won A Division for Washington, placing second, first, first, second, first, first, second, and fourth in the division's eight races. Sophomore Mason Sheen (Mandeville, La./Christ Episcopal School), freshman Lindsey Arnstein (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown), freshman Griff Rodrigue (Fort Mill, S.C./Charlotte Catholic), and junior Henry Eschricht (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) were second in B Division for Washington with race finishes of first, first, second, third, first, first, fourth, and fourth. Sheen, Arnstein, and Rodrigue shared skippering duties, while Arnstein, Rodrigue, and Eschricht shared duties as crew.
Maryland (second place), Delaware (third), and UMBC (fourth) rounded out the four-team field at the regatta.
