Box Score Wright Scores 16; Four Players Score In Double Figures
CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Visiting Yeshiva closed the game on a 16-4 run to defeat host Washington College 78-68 in a non-conference men's basketball game played this afternoon at the Cain Athletic Center in Chestertown, Maryland.

How It Happened
- The Shoremen jumped out to a 14-2 lead just 3:25 into the opening half following a layup from Cole Storm.
- Washington held a 22-13 lead following a free throw from Austin Allen when the Maccabees scored the next seven points to cut the lead to 22-20 following a layup from Ryan Turell.
- The Shoremen scored the next six points to take a 28-20 lead following a layup from Tray Wright with 8:00 left in the half, but yeshiva responded with a 12-4 run to tie the game at 32-32 following a Turell layup with 3:45 to go.
- Washington reclaimed a 37-32 lead following a pair of Wright free throws when the Maccabees scored the next six points to take their first lead at 38-37 with 46 seconds to go until halftime following a three pointer from Caleb Milobsky.
- The Shoremen would score four points in the final 22 seconds of the half to take a 41-38 lead at the half following a pair of free throws from Dallas Marshall with one-tenth of a second left in the half.
- Wright made a layup with 15:10 to play to give the Shoremen their largest lead of the second half at 51-44, but Yeshiva again countered that with an 8-0 run of their own to grab a 52-51 lead with 11:57 to play following a layup from Simcha Halpert.
- The two teams would trade the lead back and forth over the next couple of minutes, until a free throw from Wright gave the Shoremen a 64-62 lead with 7:36 to go.
- The Maccabees then went on a 12-0 run to take a 74-64 lead with 1:07 to go following a pair of free throws from Milobsky.
- Barry McCormick stopped the scoreless run with 55 seconds left, hitting a pair of free throws to cut the deficit to 74-66. Washington was held without a point for 6:41, going 0-for-9 from the floor and 0-for-2 at the free throw line during that stretch.
- Yeshiva would get a layup on the next possession from Ofek Reef to push the lead back to double digits at 76-66. Wright hit a layup with 31 seconds to play to make it a 76-68 game, and Halpert hit a pair of free throws with 26 seconds to go to provide the final margin.
For the Shoremen (1-2)
- Wright (16 points, four assists), Daniel Brown (13 points, five rebounds), Marshall (12 points, eight rebounds), Allen (12 points, game best four steals), McCormick (six points, five rebounds).
- The Shoremen shot 36.6% (26-for-71) from the floor in the loss, 31.8% (7-for-22) from three point range, and 64.3% (9-for-14) at the free throw line.
- Washington forced 17 turnovers, which they converted into 22 points, and held an 11-2 advantage in second chance points.
For Yeshiva (3-1)
- Turell (32 points), Gabriel Leifer (15 points, game best 17 rebounds, game best seven assists), Halpert (13 points), Reef (13 points, five assists), Milobsky (game best four blocks).
- The Maccabees shot 50.9% (28-for-55) from the floor in the win, 30% (6-for-20) from three point range, and 94.1% (16-for-17) at the free throw line.
- Yeshiva held a 41-33 advantage in rebounds and shot 56.5% in the second half, while limiting Washington to 27.8% shooting in the second half of play.
