Box Score White Clinches Match for Washington at No. 2 Singles
CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College won its dual match opener, 8-1, over visiting Wilkes on Friday evening inside the Johnson Fitness Center in non-conference women's tennis action.

Doubles
- The Shorewomen won at No. 2 doubles as Alisha White and Cecilia Cress prevailed 8-4 over the duo of Francesca Valera-Seri and Dasha Yakhnis.
- No. 3 doubles finished shortly thereafter and the Colonels' tandem of Sarah Malone and Laura Zielinski downed Bin Nguyen and Riley Katzman 8-5 to tie the match at 1-1.
- Irene Meng and Ella Samer gave Washington a 2-1 lead heading into singles with an 8-5 win over Wilkes' duo of Dagney Markle and Dana Saliyev at No. 1 doubles.
Singles
- Samer won the first singles result to conclude as she topped Yakhnis, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3. Nguyen followed Samer with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 4 singles.
- White clinched the match for Washington with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Saliyev at No 2.
- Meng swept Valera-Seri at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-4.
- With the result of the match determined, pro sets were played at No. 5 and 6 singles. Marin Vander Schaaf downed Markle 8-3 at No. 5 and Katzman triumphed, 8-1, over Rachel Thomas at No. 6.

- The Shorewomen are 1-0 on the season, while the Colonels are 0-1.
