Box Score CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College won its second match of the opening weekend, 8-1, over visiting Randolph-Macon, on Saturday afternoon inside the Johnson Fitness Center.

Doubles
Alisha White and Cecilia Cress got things started for the Shorewomen at the No. 2 position as the tandem defeated Landon Aud and Avery Smith, 8-2. Irene Meng and Ella Samer followed up with an exciting 8-7 (7-5) No. 1 doubles win over Morgan Faqua and Kristin Dantzler. Bin Nguyen and Marin Vander Schaaf closed out the doubles competition by edging Courtney Jenkins and Grace Holderman, 8-7 (7-4), also in a tiebreaker.
Singles
Meng took the first singles point as she bested Faqua, 6-2, 6-0, at the top spot. Cress then clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph over Smith at No. 3 singles. White recorded a come-from-behind win at the No. 2 slot as she outlasted Dantzler, 2-6, 6-0, 6-2. Nguyen cruised to an 8-0 win over Aud at the No. 4 position and Vander Schaaf downed Holderman at the No. 5 position, 8-2. Jenkins got the Yellow Jackets lone win via retirement.
Notes
The Shorewomen are 2-0 on the season, while the Yellow Jackets are 2-1.
