Box Score

EMMITSBURG, Md. – The Washington College men's basketball team traveled to Division I Mount St. Mary's to play an exhibition against the Mountaineers on Thursday night on Jim Phelan Court at Knott Arena and fell 117-62. The game did count in the standings for the Mountaineers and they improve to 1-1 on the season.

Washington shot 67% in the first half on 14-for-21 from the floor and trailed by only 12 at 47-35 with 4:39 to go in the half on a traditional three-point play by Dilyn Becker before the Mountaineers went on a 14-5 run to lead 61-40 at halftime. Becker scored a team-best 11 points, Tray Wright added 10 points and handed out a team-high five assists and Jason Zielinski netted 10 points.

"We showed real toughness and resolve to compete against a storied Division I program in a raucous environment," said Shoremen head coach Aaron Goodman. "I love giving our team the chance to compete against higher level teams as it helps to prepare us for conference play. The Mount is well coached and they will be a team to reckon with in their league to repeat as Conference Champions.  There were a lot of positives to take from this game and we look forward to getting back to practice to continue our growth."

The Shoremen (1-1) are back in action on Tuesday night as they travel to Penn State-Harrisburg with tip slated for 8:00 p.m.
