ALTOONA, Pa. - Visiting Washington College nearly overcame a 41-29 halftime deficit, but fell to host Penn State-Altoona 72-66 on Sunday afternoon in a men's basketball exhibition at Adler Arena. The Shoremen cut the deficit to one point on two occasions, the final time being with 22 seconds left at 67-66. However, the Lions converted five free throws in the final 19 seconds to get the win.
Daniel Brown and Derrick Carter each scored 12 points for the Shoremen, while Nate Gillen scored a game-high 16 points for the Lions.
The Shoremen (3-1) conclude their exhibition season on Friday night with a 7:00 p.m. game at Johns Hopkins.
