Ruppert Wins B8 Flight

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Washington College women's tennis team concluded its fall slate this weekend at the ITA Southeast Regionals on the campus of Mary Washington University.  Junior Katie Ruppert (Westminster, Md./Westminster) won the B8 Flight.

ITA Southeast Regionals

Singles
- Ruppert won her semifinal match in the B8 Flight by an 8-2 score over Alexandria Kramer of Stevenson and in the final won the exact same score over Grace Knighton of Bridgewater.
- In the Championship Flight, Irene Meng and María Cristina Diaz-Nazario each won their opening round matches.  Meng topped Averett's Maxence Lippens, 6-2, 7-5, and Diaz-Nazario downed Stevenson's Torrienne Emery, 6-0, 6-0.  Both would fall in the Round of 32 as Johns Hopkins' Anjali Devireddy bested Meng, 6-4, 6-4, and Shenandoah's Natalia Garcia-Molina got past Diaz-Nazario, 6-1, 6-1.

Doubles
- The tandem of Nguyen and Diaz-Nazario won their first round match in the B1 Flight over Sweet Briar's Isabela Guillarte and Maria Cano, 8-7 (5).
