Chestertown, MD - The Washington College Men's Basketball Team will open up their 2025-26 season hosting the Wild Goose Classic on November 8-9. The Wild Goose Classic returns to Washington College for the first time in decades. The team will host Bard, Immaculata, and Sarah Lawrence.
Last Season:
The Shoremen collected an 8-17 record last season with a 3-10 record in conference play under second year Head Coach Corey Begly. The team improved their overall season record by four games compared to the 2023-24 season. Notable wins for the Shoremen included a 67-58 win over Valley Forge and a 63-53 win over conference opponent, Haverford.
Returning for the Shoremen:
Senior, Davis Bland returns for the Shoremen for his final season. Bland averaged 9.6 points per game and added 3.3 boards per game. Fellow Senior, Ryan Lang also will return for the Shoremen. Lang started five games for the Shoremen and contributed 454 total minutes last season. Sophomore, Nolan Waldon returns as the team's leading scorer with 11.1 points per game. Fellow sophomores, Ty Woodland and Ben Costello will bring a big presence for the Shoremen down low as they return as the team's top two returning rebounders with 3.6 rebounds per game each. The Shoremen also brought in eight players from strong high school and prep programs who continue to make an impact in practice according to Coach Begly.

Key games:
The Shoremen are eager to host the Wild Goose Classic as their tip-off tournament for the 2025-26 season. They will host Bard at 3 PM on Saturday November the 8th and then host Immaculata on the 9th at 3 PM. The team will host Springfield at home on November 22nd at 3 PM and will travel to Salisbury on January 5th as their last game before heading into conference play. Conference competition will begin on January 10th as the Shoremen host Ursinus at 1 PM.
