LANCASTER, Pa. – Junior midfielder
Tucker Sprano (Annandale, Va./Falls Church) has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week in men's soccer for the week of September 8-14. This is the first time Sprano has landed the Centennial's weekly award.
Sprano scored three second half goals in the Shoremen's 3-2 come-from-behind win over 24th-ranked Mary Washington on Saturday afternoon. Trailing 2-0, Sprano got the Shoremen on the board at the 54:48 mark with an assist from
Tshazi Kamau to trim the lead to 2-1. Sprano tied the game just 3:59 later on another feed from Kamau before netting the game-winner with 9:02 left in the game to complete the hat trick and the comeback. He was the first Washington player to net three goals and six points in a game since
Brian Wilkinson '17 had three scores and six points against Cairn on September 16, 2013.
This is the first time Shoremen Soccer has earned the offensive player of the week award from the conference since
Ben Strine '23 won it on October 31, 2023.
