Chestertown, MD - The Washington College women's lacrosse team opens 2026 competition with its first home game against Trinity (D.C.) on February 14th at 1 PM on Kibler Field at Roy J. Kirby Stadium.
Last Season:
Last year the Shorewomen finished 7-10 overall and 3-5 in conference action. The team opened up their season with a huge victory over Marywood, 24-7. The Shorewomen faced six nationally ranked opponents last year, with three of those teams being conference rivals. They finished tied for fifth in the conference standings, but due to tiebreakers in the regular season, sat one seed out of the Centennial Conference postseason.
Returning for the Shorewomen:
The Shorewomen return Senior Mia Salvatierra who led the team in goals, assists, and points last season with 53, 32, and 85 respectively. Senior MaryCate Anson also returns for the Shorewomen. Anson led the team in ground balls and draw controls and set the school record for single game draw controls with 13. Both Salvatierra and Anson received 2025 Centennial Conference honors with Salvatierra on the second team and Anson on honorable mention. Seniors Piper Evans and Peyton Baldwin both return as offensive and defensive threats respectfully.
From Head Coach Meghan Keelan Lewis:
"The energy around this team has been outstanding from day one. We're fortunate to return a strong core of players whose experience and leadership have helped set the tone for our program, and we've added an exciting freshman class that has already made an immediate impact. Our players attacked the offseason with purpose and created a competitive environment that pushes everyone to improve. We're eager to watch this group come together, play fast, and proudly represent Washington College throughout the season."
